Irus 7 LT Modern Pendant

What really makes a difference in your expert home decor is the little things, so where do you get started when you need to choose a high quality piece to light up your living area? For something fun that is going to offer you a splash of color with high quality taste, I recommend the Irus 7 LT Modern Pendant, which is made of multicolored glass and finished with chrome. It is actually UL listed, and it works with 20 W bulbs to light up seven different lights.

It is a beautiful pendant to be displayed in any living area, or even your bedroom if you prefer, but it seems like something that you would want to proudly display due to the intense construction of the modern lighting design. It is completely unique in the way that the glass bulbs hang, so it would go with a more diverse style in your home living area. The bulbs are included with this fantastically designed lighting fixture, and they are halogen G4-based bulbs. I think that you’ll be surprised what a difference a truly unique lighting fixture like the Irus 7 LT Modern Pendant makes for your home, and it actually takes you away from the place of a traditional, boring lamp! Stunning.

Burning The Midnight Oil?

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Table lamps are so much in vogue for their functionality and decorative qualities. I feel table lamps have come to occupy some of our drawing room space for sheer decorative reasons. There come lamps in all shapes, yet every lamp is not for every space and décor. Overbearing the theory, we can see some odd shapes adorn spaces that do not command it. It’s important that the shape and size convey what you want to and not just stand there in disunity, breaking the harmony of the décor you took so much pain to fashion…

So, when would you call your task complete? When the table lamp stands out in unity with the entire room. It seems lamp selection is not such an easy task after all. But it’s rewarding to see a well-placed and purposeful lamp that goes with a theme. Here are some really fantastic lamps I came across on Spacify, and the ones I really like….

Brazo Adjustable Task Lighting by Pablo Pardo

The Brazo is a great task light. There are two versions—the table and the floor. The LED lighting is a modern slim shape that resembles a telescope. On the floor you can use it as night light and on the table it seems like the most utility prone lamp, what else?

Ambient Tube Top by Pablo Pardo

On the theme of table lamps, you ought to give a thought to the Ambient Tube Top too! Available in four sizes, a pair can do just well on your nightstand as in the living room. It’s awfully lamp stuff in sleek version…I like the base in acrylic clear, you can also get it in Charcoal. I think the shape is contemporary….match it up carefully…

Sophie Lamp and Candela by Pablo Pardo

This teardrop candle shaped lamp looks novel. The Sophie uses the Candle charms to make an impact. And the heavy base in Sandcasted aluminium only adds to the rest. The side lamp diffuser looks nice in white polycarbonate. Guess, it comes with a dimmer…. check it out!

Not for All…Lights and Magic

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Isn’t it true that a room can come to life with well-planned lighting! No wonder decorative floor lamps have come such a long way… well, I must say if you know the personal assets and features of your home, you should be able to highlight them with the use of classic lighting. It’s not just the photographs and the paintings that need appropriate lighting, you can bring different shades and colors to a space with tastefully done light job…from corners to artifacts and stuff you wish to highlight…

On the note, my best pal Ann once posed her creative skills in actually creating a warmer and brighter effect using colored shades….and I have never been more convinced! There are many contemporary floor lighting options that can bring to life a whole array of possibilities. Must mention the Medusa with its unconventional curvilinear structure. The flaps go so well with the light to create a perfect combo of alternate shading and light. The lacquered steel construction by Olaf Vohn Bohr was a great success, and is back again, launched by Valenti…it’s never been out of vogue, it looks like a timeless piece of lighting!

Blaze Spiral Floor Lamp

Also take a look at the Blaze spiral floor lamp. It looks like a geometrical tree to me, cones that can transform the way a space looks. I like it all, the satin steel with chrome finish, the way it is equipped with a rotary switch on each shade and the round base with a spiral pole that can extend up to 44”. The shades can literally rotate both horizontally and vertically. The Blaze tree can be arranged to simultaneously highlight areas you wish to focus….try using it against dark areas to break even….

If circles are not quite your thing (they are def. not mine!), check out the square Carnival design…all the same except the shape and the base is square too. I actually know for a fact that mirrors can be used to play with any theme, and used to your advantage…use lighting effect to enhance any space…

I think it is actually is what it looks like…innovative modern lighting era…..

Lighting with Substance

Friday, September 25th, 2009

I have often wondered about the utility part of lamps in everyday life. And I do know it for a fact that decorative table lamps can do wonders to the way a scheme appears in everyday life. For creating the kind of ambience you crave for, lights can actually be used to change the mood of any setting dramatically. Why…white lights have not been the favorite ones for designers, though they save fuel. Now you also get energy efficient bulbs that give you yellow light and also save electricity by about 60 per cent . Wow… and it so much fun to play with lighting and effects …..it’s a completely creative experience…

Speaking of which, I must add a few more entries to the modern table lamp category…why you get adjustable desk lamps that not just look good, but also offer you utility and great aesthetic appeal…

Bel Occhio Pendant

The Bel Occhio Pendant by Pablo Pardo looks like the most interesting design. Done in blow molded acrylic sphere, the multi-position spot light cum table lamp makes quite a statement. Don’t you like the awesome acrylic shell, neatly cradled in its base allowing adjustment with a touch of the hand.

The Ambiente tube top deserves more than a mention too. What I like is its great symmetry that looks almost compelling! The Top has a transparent acrylic base to support its elegant mesh fabric shade. It is light and appears to float freely, and is equipped with a dimmer to set different moods and tone…guess comes in 4 sizes….give it a look.

For a more dramatic look, you must take a look at the Pistillino Lamp Chrome. I absolutely love the mirror finish that even looks like an inspired piece from the original Valenti lamp designed in Italy 1969 by Studio Tetrarch. The material is Chromium plated PVC plastic and the unusual symmetry.
