Love those dining things

Thanks for the comments. i like to review your comments and must say they help. I get clues on what all you guys are looking for, and in also planning my next blog. So dining tables top the list for this post. Ironically, dining room tables are growing into these miniature things and are we surprised. With apartments turning into compact spaces, we need dining room furniture that meets up the new demands.

As to the highlights, try a urban warm finish which perfectly matches with light or dark furniture and breaks the color wheel to give more life to the furniture. Try to keep the buffets on mind too (if you have one) while choosing the dining table. Some of us collect different furniture items from different sources, and then mixing it up becomes an art. Well….can’t say what is right, i have seen the most fascinating mixed furniture arranged creatively to enhance the harmony….. |

Its America’s and worlds new hope—Obama—and we are living a historic moment. I am sure there are quite some challenges for the young President when he steps up in Jan; and there are high hopes in air. America spoke its mind and gave its mandate……and we all have our fingers crossed for a better future…

It was the round of luck and time and some really busy week days that took most of my time. But here I am with new designs. I had your comments on mind on the Tagua table, and the more on likes of coffee tables and decided to take a good look before this post….this time its all glass and great class…

I guess living room furniture would not carry its charms without a quiet corner for coffee and friends, a corner away yet connected to the living area. And I like the Globe glass for its funky shape and the steel sphere that sparkles against clear glass. It had to be Giorgio Cattelan with his unique sense of balance. We like it. For a more regular but not so regular stuff, I must mention the Kaidr. The mirrored base is a genius, and the rectangular top has more of the air of a regular coffee table. If you don’t have the space, I suggest the square version. It is modern furniture, all right.

The Scacco is another glass beauty I came across. The marble stand makes a unique chiseled base in white carrara or black (marquina to be exact). Check the swatch details for the effects. I like the way it shows through the clear glass top. Again two shapes, and I like the square for the symmetry of balance with the base, though rectangle is not bad at all. It’s really hopeful, all of this….

Buffets and sideboards

Dining room buffets always feel a bit too regular to post about. Not any more. Not at least since I saw these cool designs on modern sideboards. The Vesta did not strike me as a buffet at all. I looked again and got convinced of its original features. What I like is the great balance of white acrylic and glass. The side units are great for bigger dishes, crockery and glittering Chinas, and the cool storage in the center looks quite sumptuous, it’s meant for large dinnings…

A traditional and highly inspiring design—the Venezia—I like the contemporary shot of modern architectural influences in the design. The Venezia Sideboard has class. I like the two sizes and the cross /fretted doors and drawers look like a lot of space to me, any day. Check the lacquer and glass colors for details though…

The Futura contemporary is a sideboard that looks more like a regular cabinet with bigggg roomy compartments in rectangle. The black top and clear glass shelves are a tone contemporary in spirit. There are two top choices….quite trendy this one….
