Thanks for writing in. it appears my post on office reception furniture got you guys interested. Well, I have been musing over modern offices that have forgotten the utility of stacking chairs. These beauties were always a part of homes and offices; in fact, they are the most versatile things you could have around the office space. Imagine more employees turning up for a meeting, pull a stacking chair, crowded conference, hold on….stack the chair, for training sessions, at office cafeterias and canteens, they make an excellent choice simply because of their ease of design and convenience. |

On entering my boss’s room the other day, I discovered why he has been keeping so anxious these days (shhhh…. I did not blurt it loud). The heap of paper files and lack of space on his table only became apparent after he had to call his secretary to hand him out a file he himself kept aside the day before to explain the project details to me. ‘That’s how it has turned into’, he said shrugging his shoulders. Unable to contain myself, I suggested him quite casually (hoping so much he gets the message) that maybe he needs more spacious table and storing furniture. |

This Izzy design is what I really like for Joe. But, I am listing all three. I like the Clara Executive for its feeling of completeness. Storage Bumps
Office storage is essential. Period. Well, for home office owners who are on the move, you know the bunch of us who keep shifting to different corners for best of space and peace…? well, you have to make the best use of a room/corner without burdening a space with too much of paper clutter or crammed up space…. I am going to suggest a couple of ideas to keep it neat. Try to clear the paper work every week, updating, filing and removing trash. Get some mobile stuff that is easy on the eye and the room, and try to keep things simple. On designer office furniture, metal storage cabinets, follow the earlier blogs for ideas.
Here are a couple of trendy things I saw the other day. And, I was tempted to suggest other uses, but I think they are best for offices. Take Clara`s Personal Storage line, for instance. I love the cubes that can be used to customize work and store stuff. Izzy designs even calls it the camper work style—imagine packing, unloading and working….hmm….move around the house or office, and do so with a smile..:)
Another model I like is the Clara series 3*3 for smaller spaces. Features: side panels for cabling, locking casters, sockets, ADA compatibility. Allows customization to the your way of working(read freedom). And it is a moderate size for one and all rooms…look up the color and finish choices.
All Clara models look thoughtful. The 2*3 I am sure would meet with many nods. It’s a small all-purpose unit. All the models are horizontally powder coated, fronts are done in steel, the veneering done in maple, and while locking file, all cartridges need t be keyed alike.

At the Reception Box..
Reception in an office brings me to another aspect, apart from the seating arrangement, how about reception furniture and reception desks. They deserve to be a tad neater. And most importantly the demand is for ease and efficiency, for you don’t want the reception area to be a juggle of paper, pens and phones. Systematic arrangement is important in creating first impressions. Just the right office desk or corner furniture is difficult to conceptualize, for it depends on the placement. However, I suggest you take a look at a very simple design—the task reception desk.
Done in melamine laminate with cherry finish, I like the diagonal draws for visual privacy. The centre arrangement, though there are straight and bow transaction tops too, also the task light can be mounted underneath the cabinet. Its really an intact design, no airs about it but functional to its core….
I checked other designs by in2design (that’s the company name) and liked a couple of their task desks, the Task Typical, for instance. The appearance is lavish. Looks quite the complete thing, the best Features: the articulating keyboard n sliding mouse, the 72” p-shape conference end, double file mobile pedestal for filing, the corner table with 18 connections. A considerate design for modern day offices.
Another moderate design that strikes functional is the Task Typical 1. The bow desk has it all: 72″ x 36″ Bow Front Desk , bridge extension, cable grommet, table, lateral filing. Superior construction it says, and we agree. Available options include laminate or glass doors, linear and curved drawer pulls in a choice of wood finishes. Therez more….check up….
