Get More Out of Your Mirror
Bedecked Mirrors!

Imagine not living with the most essential practical décor item at home. Guess what? A mirror, of course. Our mobile wall-mirror broke last week when we shifted to a new apartment and it was real heartbreak, for I absolutely loved its rectangular shape and functionality. I could literally move it around and change the way the lobby, dressing or any empty corner of our house looked…sigh….

L tells me that it’s unwise to get attached to materialistic stuff like furniture. But I can’t help not missing things simply for the meaning it had in our life. I believe we assign values to stuff the way we interact (not literally, but on a practical level) and use it in everyday life. It’s not that I may not get another or buy a better one though, so I am out to hunt the next one…need not be the same…maybe something more decorative this time….

OK. I liked this design for its sheer innovation. I decide to buy these modern floor standing mirrors and place the pair diagonally opposite to each other, one next to the lamp and the other near the new sofa. The Cirque Floor Mirror has dynamic presence and amazes me with its unusual circles. The base is done in satin steel finish….

Another version of modern floor standing mirrors, the Carnival looks quite stylish in its square shaped presence. I am with the shape, and if you stack it against a painting, it creates a great mirror image. The circle shape has circular base, and the square has a square at the bottom done in satin steel…quite enigmatic….what say! |

Well, décor themes apart, for people looking for some straight bedroom wall mounted mirrors with appeal; I suggest the Plaid standing mirror. You can’t go wrong with it. The wicker frame finish in wood is one of the most novel things I witnessed in this segment. The shape’s regular—a la rectangle….I really like this one too… |

Dressers and mirrors—its team work at best. I have been meaning to do a blog on decorative bedroom mirrors for long. And we only need to open our eyes to be inspired with these valuable beauties, they are more than reality tickers—they make great space enhancers. Feng shui is said to place a lot of importance on arranging mirrors to attract positive energy and distract any negativities from the outdoors. It recommends arranging the mirror opposite the drawing or living area to minimize negative energy due to the reflecting properties of glass…

Coming to the functional part, I feel that both bedroom wall mounted mirrors and modern floor standing mirrors have their own importance. A bedroom mirror mounted on wall saves the hassles when space is a constraint, it serves the purpose well…and floor standing mirrors, well they have their own decorative and functional purpose…

The Cirque is what circles are all about. The circular symphony strikes quite a cord with most decorative schemes. The rounded steel base is great too. You can enhance the visual appeal of any empty corner with this one. The geometrical patterns are sure to fit in most dynamic spaces…it definitely has a modern appeal…

If circles are not quite your thing (they are def. not mine!), check out the square Carnival design…all the same except the shape and the base is square too. I actually know for a fact that mirrors can be used to play with any theme, and used to your advantage…use lighting effect to enhance any space…

The Plaid standing mirror is again a stunner. It’s wall mounted though; but I like it’s wicker wood finish. It’s good enough to fit a dresser or bedroom wall quite effortlessly. Both the finishes are great; though dark chocolate is quite my taste…. the light shade is equally tempting…
